Systems and common faults

Maintenance checks the event history, panel and device batteries, radio supervision, tampers, sirens and available communication paths.

We work with PowerMaster, PowerMax and compatible PowerG wireless devices. Typical call-outs include:

  • Device battery and supervision warnings
  • Intermittent RF or tamper events
  • GSM, broadband and remote-app faults

Parts, apps and future support

PowerMaster and PowerG equipment remains the strongest route for current support. Older PowerMax components can be scarce, so device compatibility is documented during maintenance.

Remote operation may be available through Visonic-Go or a monitoring provider when compatible communication hardware is installed.

Repair or modernise?

Preventative checks are worthwhile on a stable PowerMaster system. An upgrade should be planned when several PowerMax devices are obsolete, batteries are failing repeatedly or communication options are no longer supported.

Visonic Maintenance FAQs

Which Visonic panels do you work with?

We support PowerMaster, PowerMax and compatible PowerG wireless devices. Send a photo of the keypad or panel label if you are unsure which model is installed.

What do common Visonic fault messages mean?

Messages can point to device battery and supervision warnings, intermittent RF or tamper events, GSM, broadband and remote-app faults. The displayed warning is a starting point; the affected circuit, device and event history still need testing.

What is checked during Visonic maintenance?

Maintenance checks the event history, panel and device batteries, radio supervision, tampers, sirens and available communication paths. Preventative checks are worthwhile on a stable PowerMaster system. An upgrade should be planned when several PowerMax devices are obsolete, batteries are failing repeatedly or communication options are no longer supported.

Why is regular alarm maintenance important?

Regular maintenance ensures your alarm system functions correctly, minimizing the risk of false alarms and ensuring maximum security. It also helps identify and resolve potential issues before they become serious.

What is included in an alarm service?

Checking power supplies and battery performance.

Testing all sensors, detectors, and remote fobs.

Inspecting the control panel and resetting any issues.

Providing a detailed Engineer Activity Report.

How often should I get my alarm system serviced?

It is recommended to have your alarm system serviced at least once a year to ensure optimal performance and reliability.

What happens if I don’t service my alarm system?

Without regular maintenance, your alarm system might become prone to faults, false alarms, or fail to function during an actual emergency, putting your security at risk.

Can I service my alarm system myself?

While basic checks like battery replacement can be done by users, professional servicing ensures that all components, including control units and sensors, are thoroughly checked and tested.

Does the alarm service include replacement parts?

Maintenance services include testing and inspecting components. Replacement parts or additional repairs may incur extra charges and are not included by default.

Do you offer a discount for paying in advance?

Yes! If you pay in advance, the first hour of service is only £100 instead of the standard rate of £120. Each additional hour is £75.

When will my appointment be confirmed?

Your appointment date and time will be agreed with you after we receive your order. Placing an order or making a payment does not reserve a specific slot. For cash orders, payment is due at the visit.

What if we cannot agree a suitable appointment?

If we cannot agree a suitable appointment before the visit, we will refund any booking payment in full.
