Rokonet maintenance: models and checks

Orbit and Orbit Pro.

Rokonet maintenance records the installed Orbit family and checks power, standby batteries, zones, tampers and sounder operation. Where the installation uses separate areas or an external communicator, their operation is reviewed with the user.

Parts and compatibility

Rokonet equipment must be identified by model and component reference. A newer RISCO-branded keypad, expander or communicator should not be assumed to work with a legacy Orbit panel; suitability and availability are checked first.

Repair or modernise?

Repair may remain practical when the control panel is reliable and the fault is confined to a compatible replaceable device. Discuss modernisation when legacy control parts, signalling requirements or repeated faults make continued support impractical.

Rokonet Maintenance FAQs

Should I choose Rokonet or RISCO when booking?

Choose Rokonet for an installation labelled Orbit or Orbit Pro. For Agility or LightSYS, use the RISCO page. A keypad photograph helps if the branding is unclear.

Can a new RISCO device be added to my Orbit system?

Compatibility must be checked against the exact Orbit panel and device. Shared brand history does not make newer equipment interchangeable.

Will you check the existing communicator?

Tell us what signalling equipment is fitted and who provides the service. We can assess the local connection; provider account changes and replacement equipment are agreed separately.

Why is regular alarm maintenance important?

Regular maintenance ensures your alarm system functions correctly, minimizing the risk of false alarms and ensuring maximum security. It also helps identify and resolve potential issues before they become serious.

What is included in an alarm service?

Checking power supplies and battery performance.

Testing all sensors, detectors, and remote fobs.

Inspecting the control panel and resetting any issues.

Providing a detailed Engineer Activity Report.

How often should I get my alarm system serviced?

It is recommended to have your alarm system serviced at least once a year to ensure optimal performance and reliability.

What happens if I don’t service my alarm system?

Without regular maintenance, your alarm system might become prone to faults, false alarms, or fail to function during an actual emergency, putting your security at risk.

Can I service my alarm system myself?

While basic checks like battery replacement can be done by users, professional servicing ensures that all components, including control units and sensors, are thoroughly checked and tested.

Does the alarm service include replacement parts?

Maintenance services include testing and inspecting components. Replacement parts or additional repairs may incur extra charges and are not included by default.

Do you offer a discount for paying in advance?

Yes! If you pay in advance, the first hour of service is only £100 instead of the standard rate of £120. Each additional hour is £75.

When will my appointment be confirmed?

Your appointment date and time will be agreed with you after we receive your order. Placing an order or making a payment does not reserve a specific slot. For cash orders, payment is due at the visit.

What if we cannot agree a suitable appointment?

If we cannot agree a suitable appointment before the visit, we will refund any booking payment in full.
