Ademco maintenance: models and checks

Accord, Accord XPC, Galant, 4110/5110 and legacy Galaxy.

Record the exact Ademco panel family and compare the installed zones with the user’s records. The visit checks standby power, detector operation, tamper circuits and setting behaviour appropriate to the installed Accord, Galant or Galaxy system.

Parts and compatibility

A shared Ademco label does not establish that a keypad or control board is interchangeable. We identify the panel and component reference before checking availability; a replacement visit or specialist part is agreed separately.

Repair or modernise?

For a dependable older panel with one replaceable faulty component, a targeted repair may be sufficient. If the original control hardware cannot be sourced, discuss a replacement panel and whether tested existing wiring can be retained.

Ademco Maintenance FAQs

Is Ademco the same service as ADE Accenta or Optima?

Use this page for an Ademco-labelled Accord, Galant or Galaxy installation. ADE Accenta and Optima systems have their own service page; send a keypad photo if the label is unclear.

Can an Accord keypad be fitted to an older Galaxy?

Do not choose a keypad by brand alone. The panel family and component reference must be checked before a replacement is ordered.

Can you check an inherited Ademco installation?

Yes. Share the model, the fault message and any available zone list. We will assess the existing installation and explain any limits on repair or future support.

Why is regular alarm maintenance important?

Regular maintenance ensures your alarm system functions correctly, minimizing the risk of false alarms and ensuring maximum security. It also helps identify and resolve potential issues before they become serious.

What is included in an alarm service?

Checking power supplies and battery performance.

Testing all sensors, detectors, and remote fobs.

Inspecting the control panel and resetting any issues.

Providing a detailed Engineer Activity Report.

How often should I get my alarm system serviced?

It is recommended to have your alarm system serviced at least once a year to ensure optimal performance and reliability.

What happens if I don’t service my alarm system?

Without regular maintenance, your alarm system might become prone to faults, false alarms, or fail to function during an actual emergency, putting your security at risk.

Can I service my alarm system myself?

While basic checks like battery replacement can be done by users, professional servicing ensures that all components, including control units and sensors, are thoroughly checked and tested.

Does the alarm service include replacement parts?

Maintenance services include testing and inspecting components. Replacement parts or additional repairs may incur extra charges and are not included by default.

Do you offer a discount for paying in advance?

Yes! If you pay in advance, the first hour of service is only £100 instead of the standard rate of £120. Each additional hour is £75.

When will my appointment be confirmed?

Your appointment date and time will be agreed with you after we receive your order. Placing an order or making a payment does not reserve a specific slot. For cash orders, payment is due at the visit.

What if we cannot agree a suitable appointment?

If we cannot agree a suitable appointment before the visit, we will refund any booking payment in full.
